We have it from reliable sources that Togfest this year has been cancelled. The organisors were unable to justify the risk since MK4U organisors announced the date for the 40th Birthday Celebrations as the same weekend that Togfest is normally held.
Normally, summer festivals in MK are arranged around each other so as to avoid clashes which might reduce the attendance of one or other event. In this way, MK enjoys a full summers roster of events, which unfortunately stops at the end of July before everybody goes on holiday - leaving an enormous gap on the calendar, of things to do in August.
Organisors of the MK4U 40th Birthday bash, (all of whom are white business-suited middle-aged males, as pointed out in the papers not so long ago) which is to be held in Campbell Park, ignored the form laid down by event organisors over the last 5 or more (40 ?) years and plumped for a date without apparently looking around at what else might be going on.
The shame of it is that this has had a knock on effect to the H3 Christian festival which normally takes place the following day/week at Togfests Bradwell Abbey home as the costs for production hire are normally shared between H3 Christain festival and Togfest.
The other shame of it is that we had an agreement in principal to record Togfest this year, and its our favourite festival music-wise to boot.

Ah well, we'll just have to record MK4U instead. See ya there.
